Representing a large Eagle Ford exploration and production company in arbitration, secured a sizable monetary settlement in a pipeline-related dispute. The client owned thirty miles of pipeline that had been constructed outside of acquired easements because of errors made by a surveying firm. After a year of litigation, the surveying firm’s insurance carrier paid the client’s damages.
Representing a landowner in an easement dispute with a local pipeline company, secured a damages settlement for improperly destroyed live oak trees.
In a recent jury trial, secured a no liability verdict in favor of an energy industry client in a dispute over landman compensation. The landman had been paid in full, but sued for additional “bonus compensation.” The jury found that the Lanfear Law Firm, P.C.’s client had fully complied with its contract.
Other recent cases have involved disputes over the ownership of minerals, underpayment of royalties, and water rights. Clients include exploration companies, contract operators, and also, on occasion, landowners.
